Spring Break Impact Trip Day Two – Blog Post by Gabe Sirek – 3/14/17
When you meet a new person, most of the time it is awkward and hard to get a conversation going; but today I learned something different.
Although I was from a different country, I was welcomed by friendly hands of Haitian children. Some had goals while others wanted to meet a new person. Some wanted water, which I had to sadly say "no," which was hard - and others just wanted to see what my hair feels like or just meet another person.
Although they are a third world country, I see potential due to their friendliness and hard working attitude to just make enough money to make it in their country, even if that means standing on corners selling Coke or making boats for sailors.
They are hard working compassionate people who enjoy the little things in life.
