The Sanneh Foundation's statement regarding the shooting on Pederson Street near Conway Community Center
Last night, there was a drive-by shooting of a 15 year old male on Pederson Street in Saint Paul near the Conway Community Center. The victim and his friends proceeded to Conway for help. The Sanneh Foundation staff coordinated with police and paramedics to get help on the way. During this time, the staff gave the victim emotional and physical support in addressing his wound. The leadership on site communicated with people in the building around the safety issue, as well as coordinated parent pick ups for families at the center.
We are saddened by the violence in our community and it is another wake up call that violence and gun safety are some of our biggest threats for community wellbeing.
The City of Saint Paul and their staff have been working diligently on the safety and communication in our community. For now, all questions can be sent to [email protected] or reports of the crime to SPPD Non-Emergency at 651-291-1111.
I want to thank our staff for providing a safe haven in our community and stepping up to provide support when needed most. I ask all of us to pray for the victim, who remains in stable but critical condition in the hospital today.
