Sanneh’s Very Own Eco Ambassadors!

Our Sanneh youth learned about local and global waste reduction, and the importance of loving our planet!

Eco Day at Conway

In acknowledgment of International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste Reduction last month, our local youth at Sanneh engaged in an environmental literacy workshop. The event highlighted the importance of food consumption, waste reduction and sorting through trash and recyclables.

On September 28th, Former Major League Baseball Mercenary Chris Dickerson and Players for the Planet visited us at our Conway Community Center to teach our local Metro youth and the Law Enforcement Career Path Academy of Saint Paul (LECPA) about how to keep the Earth clean on a community level.

Our "Eco Ambassadors" at Target Field!

From sorting trash and compost, to understanding how recycling works, we were taught the importance of how to be green. Players for the Planet is a nonprofit organization working to unite all athletes to make sustainability and environmental responsibility foundational values of every sport. P4P is dedicated to providing resources for athletes across the sports landscape and helping everyone help themselves and their communities.

Eco Day at the Target Field

Twins' Pitcher, Joe Ryan!

The following day, in recognition of International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste Reduction on September 29th, our Sanneh youth also had the neat opportunity to tour the Target Field. On the tour, we learned about how the stadium maintains sustainability even as one of the largest and busiest sports centers in Minnesota.

Minnesota Twins’ Pitcher, Joe Ryan, even made an appearance to the kids as they piled in for the end of the evening!

All in all, it was definitely a great day, well-spent learning about how to keep our Earth clean and to be mindful of how we affect the climate in the environments that we live in.
