St. Cloud Dreamline Coach Kori Carter Runs Hair Drive at McKinley High

April 12, 2017 - St. Cloud, Minnesota

Students at McKinley High School felt as good as they looked after the hair drive put on by Dreamline coach Kori Carter on Wednesday, April 12. Kori worked for several months to put together this free event for McKinley students.

After she came up with the idea for the event, Kori reached out to numerous salons and barber shops in the St. Cloud area. She then visited each one of them in-person, asking if they would like to participate by offering students free haircuts and styles. Participants included Great Clips of St. Cloud, Model College of Hair Design, Royal Flush, Final Cuts, One Nation Barber Shop, and Southern Gentlemen’s Barber Shop. Kori created a permission slip explaining the services offered and had students return with a parent signature and the service they wanted to receive.

In the weeks leading up to the event, Kori walked the halls and reminded students of the drive and raising excitement for their new looks. She was also on-hand to offer styling suggestions and barber/stylist recommendations. On the day of the drive, Kori and Dani, the newest member to the Dreamline team, set up the gym with a station for each shop. They also set up a refreshment station for the volunteers.

While Kori oversaw the gym and directed students to each station, Dani went class to class to pull students to come down for their services. From 9:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m., over fifty students received a haircut free of charge. Several students were able to assist in set up and take down to earn community service hours. Students left feeling confident and positive with their fresh new looks.

Thanks for your excellent work Kori. The Sanneh Foundation is proud to have you as a Dreamline coach and as a difference maker in the community! Empower. Improve. Unite.
