On Friday, April 25, the federal administration made a devastating decision to immediately terminate thousands of grants nationwide, including two that directly support over 20 Sanneh Foundation AmeriCorps VISTA members.
These young adults chose service over self, dedicating themselves to strengthening education, food security, and youth development in our communities. Now, through no fault of their own, they are left without employment, without transition support, and without the opportunity to complete the critical work they began.
At The Sanneh Foundation, we are taking action. We have convened our leadership team, community allies, and corporate partners to build a rapid response plan to stabilize our programs and support our displaced VISTA members. But the reality is stark:
We are facing a $1.4 million budget cut over the next 18 months.
This decision directly impacts 32 VISTAs and essential support staff.
To maintain vital services and support, we must raise $350,000 by the end of this fiscal year.
Today, we are asking for your help. We are launching an Emergency Support Fund to:
- Sustain critical programs serving youth and families.
- Build a bridge to ensure Sanneh’s mission of empowerment continues stronger than ever.
Thank you for your compassion, your support, and your unwavering belief in the power of community.
